Video AssistantTM

No time for processing videos? New to Video ODS and want to see results quickly?

Lets us do the work for you…

 Introducing MEscope Video Assistant

How it Works!

It’s simple….record a 10-12 second video of your vibrating machine or structure, visit vibetech.com and pay for the Video ODS Assist option via credit card, upload your video, and in a week or less you’ll receive your post-processed Video ODS!

The Options:

  • Video Assistant – Basic
With this option, you will receive video files containing Video ODS animation of
both Sweep animation from the extracted time-waveforms and sinusoidal Dwell
animation at all Order Peaks in the calculated Frequency Spectra.
  • Video Assistant – Advanced
With this option, you will receive video files containing Video ODS animation
of both Sweep animation from the extracted time-waveforms and sinusoidal Dwell
animation at all Order Peaks in the calculated Frequency Spectra, as well as
full cleanup of any background motion in the video.
  • Video Assistant – Pro
With this option, you will receive video files containing Video ODS animation
of both Sweep animation from the extracted time-waveforms and sinusoidal Dwell
animation at all Order Peaks in the calculated Frequency Spectra, as well as
full cleanup of any background motion in the video.  You will also receive Time Waveforms and
Frequency Spectra in Displacement and Velocity units, Magnitude & Phase at
specified points on the machine or structure, ODS-FRF calculation, and the
VTmax file for further analysis in MEscope.

MEscope Video ODS™ Assist Recording Tips

Camera & FPS
You can certainly utilize a high-speed camera if you already have one, but we have found that cell phone cameras produce fantastic results, particularly for lower speed rotating & reciprocating machinery.  Most cell phone cameras offer frame rate options of 60fps, 120fps & 240fps.  60fps video can often be filmed in 4K, offering a very crisp and detailed video, but with an un-aliased Fmax of 1800 RPM (un-aliased + aliased Fmax of 3600 RPM).  A slo-mo HD recording at 240fps provides an un-aliased Fmax of 7200 RPM (un-aliased + aliased Fmax of 14400 RPM).  60fps at 4K will provide the highest level of accuracy, while 240fps HD will provide the widest frequency range for analysis.

Tri-Pod & Bluetooth Controller
For video stability, we recommend utilizing a cell phone or camera tri-pod with a Bluetooth start/stop trigger.  There are many affordable options on Amazon starting at $25 usd.

Lighting
While most high-speed cameras require additional lighting to illuminate your machine or structure, cell phone cameras don’t require any additional lighting equipment.  Ambient lighting is usually more than sufficient for recording a high-quality video with a cell phone.

Video Scaling
An accurate dimension is required to derive accurate Displacement & Velocity values from your video.  This is accomplished by selecting 2 points in the viewing plane of the machine or structure, and accurately measuring the distance between those 2 points.  You will receive an email from Vibrant Technology requesting a screen shot of the two points and the distance between them.
